Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend Jason and I went to Boerne to visit his parents. Friday night we arrived in Boerne and ate a late meal that his mom had made us. Saturday Jason helped his dad move a TV and freezer for some friends and we ate a good Mexican lunch. After lunch we were able to make a stop at the Shaved Ice place. The snow cone stand in Boerne has real shaved ice, not the crushed ice like a lot of snow cone stands. The great thing about the shaved ice is that it is very smooth and doesn’t freeze up into little ice cubes. After a great nap we had chicken fried steak and rented National Treasure 2. We also made a stop at the new convenience store down the street for a shake. The convenience store is probably one of the neatest ones I’ve seen. The store has a fresh bakery, lots of coffee and cappuccino choices, and a shake machine. Jason and I had to try this amazing machine that magically creates a shake. Here are some pictures.

These are the cups that you choose from. You can have a smoothie, frozen cappuccino, or a shake.

You simply take the foil lid off the cup and insert the cup into the metal holder. The holder shoots the cup up into the machine and the machine mixes the milkshake mix that is already in the cup and makes a perfect shake. My strawberry shake tasted exactly like the one from McDonalds.

Sunday we went to church, lunch, and then home to Abilene. We had a good weekend but were ready to get home to rest. Thankfully we both had Monday off for the holiday and were able to relax all day.
