3rd Trimester Favorites

Back in January I posted a few of my favorite things during the 1st Trimester. I thought it would be interesting to look back someday and see what my favorite things were during the 3rd Trimester. Here is a list of my favorite things in no particular order....

Air conditioning..... The temperatures have been over 100 degrees lately and I am very thankful for air conditioning right now!!

Old Navy Flip Flops: My feet are swollen and my Old Navy flip flops are the only shoes that I can comfortably fit in. Thank you Old Navy!

Pedicures and Foot Massages: If I could sit around and have a pedicure 24/7 I would be in heaven. Since I can't have a pedicure that much Jason has massaged my feet a few times and it is the next best thing. It is amazing how the swelling in my feet goes down after a foot massage. Thank you Jason!!

Snickers Bars (and most chocolate): I have never been a big fan of chocolate... until now. I must have CHOCOLATE DAILY. I prefer a Snickers bar but will settle for anything else chocolate.

The Swimming Pool: I LOVE to swim/float/sink.... lately it has been in that order. It is so nice to be in a swimming pool and to feel weightless, especially when you are carry around a baby!

Watermelon: I have always enjoyed a good piece of Watermelon but right now my Watermelon craving has turned into an obsession. I can eat a whole (large) Watermelon in less than two days and think nothing of it. I have tried to limit myself to only purchasing 1 or 2 a week but I would like to have 3 a week. It will be interesting to see if Reagan likes Watermelon someday!

Is it really almost July?!

Where did the month of June go??? Jason and I have been staying busy with work and all the things that come along with preparing for a new baby. A couple of weekends ago we had our first baby shower that was given to us by our church. We had a great turn out and received a lot of useful and cute gifts. Baby girl items are just too cute!! This next weekend Jason and I will be going to Arlington for the weekend. Saturday we will have a second shower and celebrate with close friends and family. This will be the last weekend that we go out of town before the baby arrives! It is hard to believe that we are getting closer to the due date.

The baby is still doing well and we are finalizing the final preparations for her to be here. I am doing well...my heart rate is still high but the doctors are not concerned at this point. I was told that it will not interfere with Labor and Delivery but we will see about that. I've realized that next time i'm pregnant I will do everything in my power not to be pregnant during the summer... it is just too hot!! I feel like i'm getting bigger everyday and catch myself waddling (which I hate!). Even the babies in the one year old class have begun to notice my belly. Today one of the children came up to me and lifted up her shirt and patted on her belly.

I'll try and remember to post pictures of the nursery and my growing belly soon. Until then here is a picture of Champ... I think that Champ will want to go for rides instead of walks with the neat stroller we got. Oh Champ...his poor little world is about to change so much!

Mini-Vacation

This week I have been staying at my parents house in Arlington and have been enjoying a nice "mini-vacation." My mom and I have stayed busy shopping and getting things that I needed for Reagan's nursery. Here are some of the things that i've been working on scripture/frame, purchasing a table (found one for $30.00!!), buying frames for the shelves, found fabric and trim for baskets, lamp, and hostess gifts for my Abilene shower. Needless to say we've stayed pretty busy running errands! Oh and I bought my self a wedding band to wear since my rings aren't fitting. I was tired of all the dirty looks strangers were giving me while I was out shopping with my mom. I know I looked like a "knocked up" highschooler but give me a break people!

My Cardiologist appointment last Friday went well. The doctor wasn't really concerned since I am already at 30 weeks and just wanted me to keep an eye on it. He did recommend that I stop taking the Claritan D since the decongestant can increase your heart rate even more. I haven't noticed a change but i'll take his word on it. I meet with my OB on Monday to go over the results of the Holter Monitor and will have my check up. I'll meet with her every two weeks for a short while and then i'll start going every week until the baby is born.

This weekend we'll have our first baby shower given by our church in Abilene. It is crazy to think that it is already that time! Next week i'll try and post nursery pictures once we get everything set up and together.

Holter Monitor and Check-up

Today I had my doctor appointment with my OB to check on the baby and my increased heart rate. Unfortunately my heart rate has been a steady 130 bpm and has climbed up to 170 bpm within the past few days. Since my doctor really doesn't have a reason for the increased heart rate (my blood pressure is normal) she is sending me next week to get a Holter Monitor. Here is a fun picture of what the Holter Monitor is...I'll wear the monitor for 24 hours and it will send the readings straight to my OB and to the cardiologist. On Friday of next week i'll meet with the cardiologists and we will go from there. If the cardiologist gives me the okay i'll be going to Arlington to spend a week at home (the school is closing for a week to transition into summer).

The rest of the appointment went well. I was given my Rhogam shot to prevent any problems with the incompatibility of my Rh- blood and the baby's blood and the doctor checked the baby's heart beat with the Doppler. I just have to laugh every time someone tries to check Reagan's heart beat because I know what is coming.... a kick from the little one. Sure enough she kicked the Doppler once it touched my stomach and even had a little case of the hiccups as well. Reagan's heart rate was a good 155 bpm and the doctor was happy with that.

It is hard to believe that in less than 3 months Jason and I will have a little girl. The thought of our lives changing is scary and exciting at the same time but we are looking forward to it!
