On September 11th of 2001 I was in my first period class of senior year at Pantego Christian Academy. One of the students had said that the World Trade Center had been bombed and we all looked at him for answers. Unfortunately at that moment we really didn't know what was happening or how this event would change our lives.
My second period teacher allowed us to watch the news to learn more about what was happening. We watched Good Morning America and were updated on all of the leads that were coming in about what had happened to the plane that struck the World Trade Center. A few minutes later we watched the second plane hit the second tower. At that moment I felt a fear that i've never felt before. We all knew that the first plane was not an accident and that America was under attack.
Even though Americans were filled with fear it didn't take long for everyone to start coming together. Our leaders came together, families came together, and countries came together to fight terror.
It is now seven years later and we are still fighting the war on terror. We are constantly reminded that our freedom should not be taken for granted. Here are a few pictures to remind us of that day and what our troops are fighting for.
